Watson Confidential #1: Round Up from September 23rd to October 19
Posted by kaetlyn on October 18th, 2009
Welcome, welcome, welcome to the very first news round-up at Watson Confidential! This new initiative aims to bring weekly updates with loads of news, gallery and video goodies straight to your screen – seeing as Emma is currently very busy at Brown Univeristy studying, news will obviously start weening down, thus not requiring a daily updated website. So, lo and behold, Watson Confidential was born.
If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to either email us or leave comments on this post. The update is structured into three parts: ‘News & Press Updates’, ‘Gallery & Media Updates’ and finally ‘Random Site Updates’!
Section the First: Press and News Updates
• Empire Online have launched their yearly ‘100 Sexiest Movie Stars‘ list, with Potter stars nabbing five spots! Alongside Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy), Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange), Daniel Radcliffe (need I say?) and Robert Pattinson (first Cedric Diggory then Edward Cullen), Emma has come in third in the women’s section, behind Hollywood heavy-weights Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox! Here’s what they had to say about Emma:
The face that launched a thousand extremely dodgy internet countdown clocks has blossomed with adulthood into an extremely poised, porcelain-fine beauty and something of a fashion icon. Not bad for someone who won’t even turn 20 until next April.
Most alluring as… Oh, God, this is so wrong, but it has to be Hermione Granger. We’ll say in The Half-Blood Prince, just to be on the safe side. Ron Weasley is one lucky bugger.
Interests include… Being a genuine swot, with GCSEs and A Levels up the wazoo. She also passed her driving test at the first attempt.
• An outline of the upcoming ‘Half Blood Prince’ DVD content has been released, with the latest DVD boasting a slew of extra features and cast-hosted extras! The 2-Disc “Special Edition” of ‘Half Blood Prince’ includes a ‘Close-Up With The Cast of Harry Potter’, in which Emma talks about the make-up of the film; a ‘One-Minute Drill’ with the cast, who have one minute to to describe aspects of their character’s history and personality; an on-the-spot quiz hosted by Tom Felton; a sneak peek at the upcoming Harry Potter World in Orlando, Florida; plus, additional scenes! The first ‘Deathly Hallows’ footage is also set to be attached to the ‘Half Blood Prince’ DVD which is set to hit the shelves in the United Kingdom on December 7th, 2009 (fellow Aussies, such as myself, can grab the DVD November 16th, 2009 – keep your eyes peeled!).
Close-Up With The Cast of Harry Potter (trt: 28:30) (Hosts Matthew Lewis (“Neville Longbottom”) and Alfred Enoch (“Dean Thomas”) lead us on an entertaining look at the cast of Harry Potter as they explore their interests away from acting and spend a day on set with the production team.) Grazia have also run a small blurb on Emma’s upcoming fashionline, talking exclusively to a People Tree worker; they further elaborate on the fashion line, giving a few more details as to what will be included – along with environmentally friendly cloths and materials, there is set to be a jewellery line made entirely of sweet wrappers! See more for yourselves, or read the blurb below:
There was no slacking off the design process for Emma Watson in the creation of her new range with People Tree, even as she prepared to start her first year at America’s prestigious (and Gossip Girl’s namedrop) Brown University.
“Emma attended every single design meeting over the five-month process,” Antony Waller at People Tree tells Grazia. “She doesn’t want to be known as a designer but wanted to give her input and ideas wherever she could.” read more?
• Continuing on with Emma fashion talk, Emma has been included alongside Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto as the “new golden girls” of British fashion. Both starlets have been praised for their outfits at the Burberry show and for their ability to rub shoulders with prominent past fashion stars Gwenyth Paltrow and Liv Tyler (not to mention fashion designer Stella McCartney!).
While they’re both relative newcomers to the style scene, actresses Freida Pinto and Emma Watson more than proved their staying power as they hit the British capital’s fashion week. As Burberry’s new poster girl, all eyes were on Harry Potter star Emma as she arrived for the label’s runway presentation. read more?
• The Telegraph reported back at the end of September that Emma chose to accept a position at Brown University over one at Cambridge due to the “high profile” that Cambridge holds.
“Cambridge is so high-profile,” she said. “I definitely am attracted to [going to study] in the States for that reason.” Sadly, Mandrake hears that the actress has discovered that it is impossible to escape Harry Potter fans. read more?
Section the Second: Gallery and Media Updates
In a bid to clear the clutter on my harddrive, there have been several gallery updates made for this update! Starting with miscellaneous magazine clippings from this year to new additions from the May 12th Shell Cottage Filming; as a bonus, flash from the past, high quality additions to the ‘Goblet of Fire’ photoshoot and production photos (but wait, there’s more!), and another from the ‘Order of the Phoenix’ photoshoot and a new promotional still from ‘Chamber of Secrets’! And just for kicks, new additions from the ‘Order of the Phoenix’ Paris premiere!
Section the Third: Random Site Updates
Two new picspams have been added – catch up time! September sees a massive spam of Emma Watson at the ‘Order of the Phoenix’ London press conference showing us a multitude of funny faces, while October brings a collective of white wear, our first colour-centric spam! Sparkly! has also been given a mini make over with a gorgeous new header!
Sources for this update include: Oclumencia, The Celebrity City, Oh My Watson, Snitch Seeker and E-W.net! See you same time next week for another update!
